Re: Kellogg 2008-09 Essays Released [#permalink]
thanks for your help!

I haven't written an essay over 700 words since college. For even work-related reports, I've usually written the exec summary and/or done the final reviews/edits...so 1000 words seems like a lot!!

I suppose that's all the more reason for me to get started sooner rather than later (drat!)

Does the MMM program have its own essay requirement? I didn't see any MMM essays posted on the website when the 2Y essays were released a couple of weeks ago.

Soni -- Yes, they probably will have their own version of Essay #1. Last year, the MMM version of the question was the following:

B - Master of Management and Manufacturing applicants only: Briefly assess your career progress to date. How does the MMM program meet your educational needs and career goals? (one to two pages double spaced).

Re: Kellogg 2008-09 Essays Released [#permalink]
I just got off the phone with the kellogg admissions office and was told that the MMM essays and regular 2Y FT essays this year will be identical. Seems kind of strange because I'm sure they want to know "why MMM" somewhere in the essays.
I can always add it into the "why Kellogg" part of my essays. Is there some sort of checkbox on the application where I can indicate my interest in the MMM program?

Any ideas why no different essay for the MMM program this year?

Soni -- Yes, there is an area in the application in which you check a box for the program you are applying to.

As for why there is no separate MMM question, I don't have a clue. Perhaps its because the MMM question really is not all that different from the 'Why Kellogg?' question.

Compare the two questions:

A.) Briefly assess your career progress to date. Elaborate on your future career plans and your motivation for pursuing a graduate degree at Kellogg

and

B.) Briefly assess your career progress to date. How does the MMM program meet your educational needs and career goals? (one to two pages double spaced).

They are very similar to me. Make sure when you explain why Kellogg, you talk about how the MMM fits with your educational/personal/professional aspirations. For MMM applicants, in the question asked, I would interpret '...pursuing a graduate degree at Kellogg' to mean 'pursuing the MMM program at Kellogg.'
