I am also an R1 waitlist who was admitted recently. I'm an MMM candidate.
I only sent one update to the adcom, in early February. I was actually trying to get in touch with the AdCom to get some feedback in early March and instead, they called me 2 days later with the good news.
The AdCom member actually made a comment to me that she liked how I handled being on the waitlist. I'm not sure exactly what to make of that comment.
Anyways, there is hope out there.
