Unfortunately that's a pretty competitive profile. There's a lot of people like you who want to do the same thing and probably have better test scores. It would probably benefit you to retake to clear at least 670 but preferably 700. I would not mess around I would get a tutor and try to get really laser focused on what you need help with. You can go for it, I don't think it's impossible but it's not probable.

Hi Farrell Dyan
Got a score of 650 (Q49,V29, IR-7). Can you please tell me what are my chances of getting into weekend MBA at booth with this score, or should I retake the exam to get to that magical figure of 700 ? I am 27 ,Indian male

My profile:

-Master's in Engineering Management from NEU, GPA 3.30.
-Undergrad from an Indian college, GPA: 3.55 out of 4
-40 months of Work Experience
-Also did Summer School Program from Booth in 2013.

My recommendations would be from the director of operations of my present company and the owner of boutique firm where I worked for a year.

Well, its very iffy - you do have a great profile otherwise but to be honest, most do. There's a lot of competition, if you are applying to Booth, you are not a directionless stoner. There are so many intake rounds that I would strive to bring up that verbal to 35 or so. It's very easy to target fall instead of summer or whatever.

29 verbal is just a bit worrying. Get a verbal tutor - I tutored for 18 years and if you apply the right strategy things can really open up for you. I keep intending to create my online course on GMAT verbal. For the moment you might review the 2 GMAT Verbal focused podcasts I have posted here and apply them

Sure, happy to explain.

I have been talking to the Booth weekend administrator for quite some time now and got the feeling that anyone with 650+ and a good work ex stands a good chance if the overall profile is good.

The current profile is a strong one, also he already has a association with Booth, from 2013 which will make his case strong.

Thank you to both of you for your comments. I really appreciate it. I really don't want to retake GMAT and instead will try to work on making rest of my application strong.

Having said that ambera33 where are you in your application process? Have you already applied? What is your profile if you don't mind me asking?

Are you in US or somewhere else ?

Regards,

Admission chances is a question a lot of applicants like to ask, but this is actually the most annoying question the adcom hears. This shows a lack of motivation and laziness in the applicant because the message that brings to adcom is that I will only apply if you tell me that I have a chance.

Re-application is always welcomed and an applicant can apply to as many programs they want at any given point of time. I would recommend you to put in the best effort to prepare the application and if it fails, then work on the weakness and re-apply again. No one can tell you your chance until you submit your application. Good luck.

I was wondering if anyone could provide some guidance on my chances of getting into Kellogg part time. I have a finance degree from U of I (Urbana Champaign) with a 3.5 GPA. I scored a 640 on my Gmat, and have almost 6 years of work experience (4 in leveraged finance). Should I retake the Gmat and try to get a higher score?

I am in a similar boat as this post. I am female, Indian, US citizen with 6 years of engineering experience in oil and gas. My under grad GPA is 3.2 and my graduate GPA is 3.9. I scored a 670 on my gmat (49Q 34V). I would like to know my chances in getting into Booth part time.

I suggest you get a detailed profile evaluation. Some of the ways to get a profile evaluation are at the following link https://gmatclub.com/forum/how-to-evalu ... 53896.html
