I too am terribly sorry about this potential news. Your application is truthful as of the day you hit submit, so you don't have to worry about providing an update. I would recommend recruiting for a new job now for several reasons:

1. It provides you with income until you start school. Not everyone can just go without income for 6+ months, especially if they are beginning a 2-year program where they are spending money (and not earning.)

2. You may not even get into a school and you will need a job moving forward.

3. If you get interviews and need to talk about your job, you can be incredibly creative about how you phrase things. We are not advocating lying but you can phrase things in a way that reference your current (and potentially former) job such that you are being truthful without disclosing your current status.

The point here is you kind of need to embrace a "wait and see" strategy. Wait to see if you get laid off. Wait to see if you can get a new job. Wait to see if you get an interview for MBA programs and/or get in.

Sorry you are in a state of limbo. Keep us all posted.

Thanks for reply! Just wondering - do I need to update Adcom regarding my change of job post submission if I got admitted? The thing is similar for me - got a new job lined up after application submission but before the interview, then move on to a new role by the time of admission... A bit tricky here...
