B is fine. The rule for 'as' in comparisons of this type is this:

'like' goes with nouns (or noun phrases, such as "many other professional wrestlers")
'as' goes with phrases that have verbs in them (such as "did many other professional wrestlers")

Correct: 'Cycling is a low-impact exercise, as is swimming.'
Correct: 'Cycling, like swimming, is a low-impact exercise.'
Wrong: 'Cycling is a low-impact exercise, like swimming is.'
Wrong: 'As swimming, cycling is a low-impact exercise.'

So that means B is also correct?
Both A and B use began to wear. There is no option with wore (B is shorter because it doesn't have the word professional in it). Are you looking for a call on as or do you want to rework these options first?

Can anyone suggest if B is incorrect or not?

A) Like many other professional wrestlers, grapller and showman Jeff Hardy began to wear neon clothing and ultraviolet body paint to make a statement.
B) As did many other wrestlers, grapller and showman Jeff Hardy began to wear neon clothing and ultraviolet body paint to make a statement.

I know that A is simple and works like a charm. I have doubts whether there is any tense mistake ("wore" in place of "began to wear") in B.

Yes, but less preferable than the like option, because B is not as concise (assuming that professional was an inadvertent miss in option B).
