Hi GMAT Experts
GMATNinja,
KarishmaB,
bb,
sayantanc2kTo improve my speed and accuracy and finally verbal score, I started solving LSAT LR Questions and RC Passages. One thing I noticed that many LR Questions and RC Passage I am encountering are based on Legal Topics, however difficulty I'm facing in RC is humanities/social sciences topics. I'm doing fine in other RC Topics. In CR Questions of GMAT, I'm taking too much time to eliminate options. As, I have exhausted most of the GMAT Official questions, what would be best strategy to improve verbal score? Should I only select questions related to topics I'm having difficulty? LR questions seem to be more varied than CR questions. Need help and guidance.
Regards
If you have identified the topics in which you do not do well, doing a few passages on it will not help. Read articles, books, magazines everyday on that topic.
To improve on CR, you do not need a 1000 questions. If you know exactly what you have to do on each question type, a few practice questions of each type are sufficient. Normally people do take 2 - 2.5 mins per CR question but they steal time from SC.
To improve on RC, your reading speed needs to increase and you need to be comfortable with various topics (it is a slow process though). You can use LSAT RC passages freely for practice.
