Hi All,

I recently received offer for LSE MSc in International Management (IMEX) and is still waiting for the result from Cambridge MPhil in Management.

The reason why I applied for the two programs is that I do not have enough work experience yet to apply for MBA and I am not sure if MBA is my ultimate goal.

Could anyone kindly share their take on which to choose: LSE/ Cambridge/ MBA (apply next year)?

Background: 22 years old
1. GMAT-
710: V41, Q46, AWA 4.5, IR 2
680: V34, Q48, AWA 6, IR 7

2. Work experience- 1 year
a. I have been working with a cloud enterprise solution business group since November 2014. The firm is based in TW with a focus on server and storage product manufacturing for major brands in the field. As a part of my job, I manage all aspects of three OEM customer business programs including quotation preparation and approvals, contractual agreements, planning, scheduling, production processes, quality, and shipping in China.
b. Prime achievements:
* I am the youngest recruit in the company, but first to be promoted to project manager within six months.
* Oversee three projects that contribute $10.5 million NTD to the business group’s revenue every month.
* Increased project’s test capacity by five times.
* Reduced two projects’ test cycle time by 67%, saving 42% of MVA.
* Doubled projects’ revenue within a year from $1.1 to $2.25 million NTD.

3. College info:
a. Graduated in Economics as honor student from UC Berkeley with a 3.83/4.0 GPA within 3 years
b. Phi Beta Kappa (Top 10% of the graduating class)
c. Dean's Honors List from Fall 2012 to Spring 2014 (Top 4% of College Undergraduates)

Thank you :)

Hi,

Actually both schools are great. However, I have some doubts.

Although those Msc programs are directed to fresh graduates, I advise you to slow down, especially you do not know if MBA is your ultimate goal. You can wait for next year and apply to any MBA, but actually you benefit a lot if you have more experience because those programs do not depend on theories only but big part for practical applications. They build on your previous experience. After graduation, you will feel the difference in your way of thinking. It will be shift in your career as well.

Your undergrad profile and achievements are really promising. If you wait to have 4 years of experience, did not exhaust your time now in Msc and focused in more achievements in you international context, I think you can apply to big MBA programs such as Harvard, Wharton, London, INSEAD, or any others. Also, try to push your GMAT score in Quant and IR (although IR claimed not be seen but do not leave any gap in you application). I think you have a high probability to go big MBA schools soon.

good luck
