Hi Bunuel,

Can you suggest a forum to practice these increase and decrease questions? Also, if possible, share a source where I can improve my basic understanding of the % inc/dec concepts.

As a generic formula for % gain or loss we can use the below:

X --> Y a% profit or loss

Y --> Z b% profit or loss

Then for
X --> Z Profit or loss % would be

a + b + (ab/100) For profit

or

a + b - (ab/100) for loss

SUbstituting this formua we can deduce the solution for this question as we have value provided in option 2.

To directly calculate the % increase or % decrease :-

= {A+B+(AB/100)} where A and B are successive % increase (for % decrease use negative sign)

Therefore-

S1: MN=100 Not Sufficient

S2: 100M+100N+MN=4300
Divide the whole equation by 100
M+N+(MN/100)=43
Sufficient
