Many people feel that gold and platinum are the most valuable commodities. To the true enterpreneur, however, gold and platinum are less valuable than opportunities that can enable them to enrich himself. Therefore, in the world of high finance, information is the most valuable commodity.
The author of the passage above makes which of the following assumptions.
Gold and platinum are not the most valuable commodities
Entrepreneurs are not like the most people
The value of information is incalculably high
Information about business opportunties is accurate and will lead to increased wealth
Only entrepreneurs feel that information is the most valuable commodity.
In the above question, the correct answer as per PR is D. I am sort of convinced but then what doesnt convince me is the reasoning behind why E is not the correct answer. They say that E weakens the argument. while, in my thinking, the author is making this assumption in his passage even though unstated. Any thoughts? Isnt it logical to infer from the second and the third sentence that the author assumes that the world of high finance is made of entrepreneurs only? Even though i feel E is probably wrong, i cannot definitely say a reason to mark it wrong. Any help?

As the option talks about only entreprenuers, it doest qualify for an assumption. If i apply negate the assumption test, the argument still stands.
by applying the negation test, the option sounds like this.
not only entrepreneurs feel that information is the most valuable commodity i.e there are some other people who feel that information is the most valuable commodity. So what ?? this doesnot crack the argument. hence it is not the correct answer.
Personalize the argument and you will get the answer.
IMO if u take a closer look at the last line, it talks about "the world of high finance". So if restrict your answer to "Only Entrepreneurs", its like restricting the financial world to Entrepreneurs only which in reality consist a lot more.
