A) the "cocktail party effect" has for years been stimulating a stronger understanding of aural segregation, to describe -- to describe indicates a purpose. There is no intention involved in the example. It is a matter of coincidence rather that stimulating a stronger understanding happens along with describing the effects.

Hi,

A) & E) are wrong because "they" is used incorrectly. "they" can be used only for People.
D) is wordy and incorrect usage of "being".
B) is wrong because the tenses are not parallel. Present perfect is not parallel with simple present.

IMO:-C
Choice A:- Usage of "When" is wrong
B:- Studies...... shows -->Wrong SV agreement
C:- Studies have... shown --> Correct and sleek
D:- Wordy
E:- They & Their refers to single noun whereas "they" refers to studies and "their" refers to people.

Experts , plz validate my reasoning.
