Hello Experts and friends!
I gave my GMAT yesterday and scored an abysmal 600. I was consistently scoring 680s in my GMAT-Prep exams.
I did my Verbal section first.
The marker wasn’t working well during the verbal but I didn’t use it much except one RC so I changed it to the next two before starting my Quant section.
After about 6-7 qs the marker dries out. And then I use the other and that doesn’t work either. I started panicking and raised my hand. The qs were very difficult and the guy brought me 2 more. But to my surprise even those weren’t working. So I kept scratching twice just to make it visible. In the mean time I saw that the person was screening a new guy in and I had to wait another 2 mins before he was done to bring me 2 more pens. I started working with it and surely within 2 mins they don’t work either. By this time I had lost my concentration and was deeply concerned. So I raised my hand and the guy brings in a handful of pens he had. I kept scratching them to see which one worked. I finally found one that worked decently but by that time I was 8 mins behind my Milestone chart. I kept my cool and started answering qs but I think the damage had been done. I’m attaching my ESR where you can see that the second set of qs really destroyed my score.
The guy opened a new box of pens during the break and gave me 2 new pens for IR but I didn’t care at that point.
This was a traumatic experience. I know I could’ve scored a Q47 at least but found myself scoring Q 42.
Is there any point in filing a complaint? How does one file a complaint? Can I get a reschedule from GMAC for this blunder? Or are they going to just deny this ever happened. I mean they video and audio record everything.
Kindly help if anyone has gone through a similar experience! I’m very dejected.
PS: the first 15 qs were extremely lengthy and difficult. Something I have never seen before. Are the quant qs getting harder and harder every time or do you think I got some experimental qs in the mix?
bb I would greatly appreciate your input. What should I do?
