I had called USC Marshall yesterday asking them about scholarship information. They said that they wont be able to give scholarship information on the phone or e-mail. This information will only be given in the package which they say will reach us within two weeks. We will have to stay in dark till then.

Done with my interview! Met with an adcom member and overall it was a great experience, was asked a lot of standard questions so nothing outside the box.

I read somewhere that Admit Weekend is April 25th (I can't remember where I found that), and Orientation starts the 3rd week of July. International students (of which I am not) start a week before regular orientation.

Is anyone still waiting to interview? I Have my interview next week, but it seems like many people have got their acceptances. Is this a bad sign?

I don't think it's a bad sign at all. The admissions office was a little behind in notifying applicants of their interview status, so I think it's a good sign that they are still interviewing candidates. There's still a chance out there for folks!

My decision was posted Saturday night, but I also just got the call today. It goes to show that they are a little light on manpower right now. Obviously, it doesn't make it any easier, but it's something to keep in mind.

i have nothing to justify my guesses below... but...

i'm guessing that the application decisions are evaluated in one of the two following ways:
1) random
2) stronger candidates are accepted first, then they see if they have room for progressively weaker candidates.


though... one thing that doesn't make sense about #2 of my own guesses above is that last year, there were rejections even on the 1st and 2nd day of decisions. so who knows.

I really doubt its the latter especially since they are understaffed. I do not think they have the luxury of sorting and sending it in descending order especially when there has been no word on scholarships in the online admit letter.

Honestly, it was a guess based upon what other people were saying and my own experience. I have no idea about the details of USC staffing. That being said, I was impressed with how well the students seemed to do via the career services...so I'm not going to get too ahead of myself and start making correlations between the two. Overall, I had a very good experience and when I did have to ask the admissions office questions, they got back to me promptly.

Done with my interview. The interviewer was very warm. Overall a great experience.

One of the best, I can safely say. (of the 4 interviews i have had so far)
