Master in ESADE

Question

Hi,

I am female from India having a work exp of around 1.5 years. I had applied for ESADE MBA and got an interview call from them.

As final result I got dinged but was offered Masters in ESADE.

If anyone can guide me on this, if master would be a good option? Getting a good job after masters in on high priority.
I am considering masters in International Management and Marketing.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Hello

ESADE is a good business school. The master's program will not as prestigious as the full time MBA, you certainly will have good job opportunities.As you have very little work experience, a masters program is right for you, but keep in mind that if you are interested in assuming going up the ladder and assuming positions of leadership, you will have to do an MBA down the line. If you are interested in changing your industry and entering a new one, going for the masters program would be a good idea. Your performance in the program will largely impact the kind of job offers you get. Thou the average starting salary is $50,000, there will be students with offers around $90,000 as well as below 50k. So if you perform really really well, you could get an offer similar to the MBA students. This of course would be an exceptional case.

I have heard that in today's scenario in Europe is not favorable for Non-European and Indians have to return to their country where they get very less job salary. I want to change my field at this point of time and hence considering masters though finance do matter to me. I don't expect high salary , a decent salary will work great for me.

If you can provide some inputs on this I will be highly grateful .

That is true to a certain extent. But there are many universities in Europe where Indian students flock to. Only very few of these universities are prestigious and would more or less ensure a good career for students regardless of nationalities. ESADE MSc program in International management has had may students from India as well as many other Asian countries. If you are looking for a career change, then this is certainly the way to go if you do not have offers from any other better program.

i want to pursue my Msc in international management...Considering the job prospects & constraints on nationalities( I'm an indian) will it be really feasible to invest huge amount of money for MSc?
also what is the gmat score i should eye for?

Hi. Did you join ESADE master's program? I've been admitted to the msba program and have the same doubts as you regarding employment opportunities for non eu students. If you did go to esade please share your experience and opinion if a non eu student could get a decent job there after the program

shrushona : Generally speaking, the top business schools also have reputable non-MBA masters degree programs. In Europe, you're generally looking at INSEAD, HEC, LBS, LSE, etc. In the US, think about MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Duke, etc. In CAN, think Rotman, Ivey, etc. You generally get the idea however, there are slightly less known schools (on an international basis) that actually have great masters programs in certain specialties. The Fletcher school at Tufts University in Massachusetts, for example, has a top notch international relations masters degree. So, if you are focusing on something very specific, it's a good idea to speak to experts here and others in the space to identify the best in that particular specialty.
