Hi Jen,
I am planning to apply in Sep this year. Just wanted to get a sense if applying in the second deadline I.e. January is of much disadvantage compared to the 1std deadline? How much difference does it make?

A few questions we have received from the sign up form - Is career progression really necessary for having higher chances of getting admitted?

Hi! So, Round 1 vs Round 2 really depends on when you are ready to submit a strong application. So, if you are ready to submit strong essays and strong exam scores, go ahead and submit for Round 1. If you have a slightly weaker profile (lower GPA/exam score/less work ex), Round 1 is a bit better.

Thanks,
Also I have 6+ years of work experience already. Hence was planning to do a 1 yr MBA instead of a 2 yr one. Is a 2yr MBA better in the longer run or can I go ahead with a 1yr programme?

MBA programs are looking for career progression - meaning that you have excelled either in your function or in your sector - it is an indicator for success and how you can contribute to the cohort. It can also demonstrates leadership. Some roles don’t have many promotions early on, adcoms know that, and you can illustrate career progression through projects and increased responsibilities.

Depends on what you want to do with an MBA - what do you do now? what do you want to do after?

Then you likely can make that move without needing an internship, assuming you are most interested in the name brand and network of the school

Great question! I am not certain that there is one quality. But if I had to say, it would be your POTENTIAL. They are looking for candidates that the MBA will learn from others while also teaching others. They will look at academic readiness, career experience/readiness and school fit.

Actually.... attending GMAT Club’s MBA Spotlight in June is a really great spot to start! Adcoms from all the top programs will be sharing the most important details about their programs and you can get a feel for the vibe on campus. I would recommend attending similar MBA fairs in person. Then, I would start considering what your post grad goals are and start looking school by specialization - we have a list on ARINGO.com https://aringo.com/mba-specializations/
