Hi BB
How about applying at 32 or 33 and enrolling at 33 and 34? Is that an issue for the top US full MBA?

Hi. It’s not so much the age but rather the work experience and subsequent recruiting that come in to play when your application is evaluated. If you went to the military or spent time in school, and you only have six or seven or eight years of work experience, that is different if you have 10 or 12 years of work experience by the time you matriculate.
The reasons many schools tend to shy away. It’s not a dealbreaker, and it doesn’t mean you will not get into any of the business schools, but it starts becoming harder and trickier but anyway, the reason it becomes a question is because recruiting is optimized for people in their late 20s with 4 to 6 years of work experience who will be consultants or junior p.m. managers. Business schools will have a hard time placing someone with substantial work experience. The jobs that companies traditionally come to recruit would be much more junior.
Thanks BB and I second what you said!
Although we have had at
ARINGO candidates who are 36 who got into Wharton and Booth's full-time MBAs, as a rule of thumb, top "regular" MBA programs will have a problem recruiting someone with more than 12 years of experience.
There are of course some special full-time MBA programs for senior candidates such as MIT Sloan Fellows, Stanford MSx, Foster GEMBA, LBS Sloan and USC Ibear. but as BB explained, it is not an age thing, but more of a how many years of experience do you have thing.
We recorded a video on the GMATClub Youtube channel titled "MBA over 30" and I suggest you view it as it holds many options for older or more senior candidates:
