MBA at 32

Question

Hi,

I’m currently 30 and was hoping for a 3 months or 6 months GMAT prep. If all goes well I’m assuming I might be able to join for MBA in 2022.

I’m a BTECH Graduate from Cochin University Of Science & Technology having completed the course with 69%. As part of career progression as well as to move out of India I was hoping to do a full time MBA in a country where my husband can also find work. He has done his PDGM in Finance and has 11 years of experience working in the banking treasury . I have 8.8 years of experience working in IT. I had previously written GRE (in the year 2015) and had a score of 149 for Verbal and 151 for Quants (wrote GRE post 2 days of preparation which was very less). 
I’m looking for pursuing an MBA course outside of India. Given my background i had the following queries
1. which are the colleges I should be applying too
2. target GMAT score
3. Apart from OG do I need to buy the Manhattan Prep?

How about Canada? It is immigrant friendly and mba student get 3 years work permit as well.

Hi,

I applied for MBA when I was 30 as well. 
I purposefully chose Canada as my country for pursuing MBA. The spouse of the student gets work permit/visa under the current immigration policy. Another advantage is that based on the duration of your program, you can apply for post graduate work permit once you are done with your studies. You might get anywhere from 1 - 3 years permit/visa.
If you target Canada, you will need 700+ GMAT to be more confident in your application. (other factors will still matter but higher GMAT is helpful due higher immigration rate from countries like India/china and so on.)

However, you need to be clear on the purpose of your MBA decision: is it immigration and higher studies or is it just higher studies etc. This will help you to set right expectations when immigrating to a new country.
