Hi everyone!
I've received admits from the following universities: [Will likely go ahead with Monash or Curtin, probably Monash]
1-Monash University (Masters of Business Analytics) - with a 20K AUD entrance scholarship
2-Macquarie University (Masters of Business Analytics) - with a 20K AUD entrance scholarship
3-Curtin University (Masters of Predictive Analytics)
I'm also waiting on hearing back from the following MBA programs where I've been interviewed:
1-McGill FT MBA
2-University of Toronto FT MBA
3-National University of Singapore FT MBA (Though the interview didn't go as well as I would have wanted)
A little bit about my profile:
Age:25
Work Exp: 2 Years (mostly in eCommerce and Sales, both in strategic Data-Driven Roles but mainly based on Excel work)
Objective: Hoping to gain a degree from either of the two countries and pursue roles either in Marketing or Business Analytics which is why I've also chosen MBA programs that let me specialize in the mentioned fields. I'm aiming to secure a job in the country where I graduate and call my spouse to join me as well once my degree has concluded. My aim is to gain as much foreign experience as possible, preferably for at least 5-6 years before and build my skills in Marketing and Business Analytics before returning to my home country.
I'm deciding between the two countries and the two degrees. Would appreciate any help from anyone who's either made a similar decision or knows a bit about the local markets.
If any of you could answer the following questions it would greatly help:
1-Scope and Employability of MBAN Graduates in Australias - would it be comparable to MBA Graduates from either of the two universities?
2-Potential for relevant part-time work in Australia - can you get part-time work/internships that would help secure full-time employment in the future?
3-Reputation of Monash and Curtin university graduates in the employment market, are they well sought after?
4-Are there opportunities to work with MNC's and gain valuable experience in the field of BA or is it still growing in the country?
5-I made a list of Pros and Cons, if you can think of any other based on your experience in CAD/AUS do let me know.
MBA:Pros for MBA-
1-Both McGill and UofT are very well rated.
2-MBA programs are designed to help secure employment.
3-I have relatives in Canada which will make the transition smoother
4-McGill and UofT are likely to open my career up to global markets in the US as well
5-Both degrees have specialization options in Marketing and Business Analytics
6-Both programs also offer options for internships that are well paid.
Cons-
1-Expensive and most likely will give no scholarship award
2-MBA is a fairly saturated degree
3-MBA is also a very demanding degree so leaves no option to work during the degree
MBAN:Pros for MBAN-
1-Rising Demand for the Degree
2-Cheaper Program with 25% covered via Scholarships
3-Options to work Part-Time during the degree to cover costs
4-Internship options during the degree
Cons for MBAN-
1-Unaware of demand for these degrees in the local market
2-Little demand for MBAN back in home country currently
3-Universities ranked well below other Canadian options
