Hi all,
I'm considering starting my MBA in Fall '18. My target school is NYU's part-time program. If someone can give me an idea of how my profile is looking?
Work experience - 6 mos as a trader at a hedge fund, just under 2yrs as a Performance analyst for the wealth management arm of a bank with over $100 billion AUM.
GRE - 159q/159v, but I am scheduled to take the test again and have hired a tutor to help me. I had taken it once previously and gotten 155/162, so my area of improvement is primarily quant.
GPA - 3.45, SUNY Binghamton Grad. Junior/Senior years I had a much higher GPA, also took the first year of their MBA program my senior year and did quite well.
Extra - Part of my company's mentor program. I do not have much in the way of volunteer work (I've had to deal with a few health issues).

Thanks for sharing your profile. With your current score you will be on the lower end of Langone’s 80% GMAT range which makes you a fringe candidate. So i think it makes sense to retake the GRE and if you can hit some

I just want to say congratulations on Surviving Binghamton for 4 years. I was the marketing manager at the newspaper for 3 years and then packed my car quit my job and with no prospects, drove across the country. back to you. The younger a candidate is the more important the test score is and so for that reason I do think you should retake it. Your work experience is a little bit on the light side for part-time and actually for full-time as well. I would really concentrate on doing the application well. If the test doesn't go as hoped then consider MBAmath.com, some other showing of quantitative aptitude. CFA would have been good for that, but you can also point to a record of solid grades in math related courses. mbamath is your best bet, I think.
