Your profile btw?

Taken from a previous post I made

1. Background
- Straight, White, Christian male
- Undergraduate in Genetics and Biotechnology from Brigham Young University
- From a very low SES background: raised in a trailer, father is a disabled veteran, at or below the poverty line my whole life growing up

2. GMAT:
- 760 (V48, Q47) | IR:8 |AWA: 6
- I’ll note that I have gotten a 49Q on a previous GMAT, but I asked H/S/W if they will consider both, and only Wharton said that they did--see the thread about it here: https://gmatclub.com/forum/got-a-740-ag ... l#p3193242

3. Undergrad Academic Achievements:
- GPA: 3.95/4.0
- Cum Laude
- Full tuition scholarship, Research grants for biotechnology/drug discovery research

4. Work Experience
- 1 year at a social impact Venture Capital fund while still in my undergrad
- 2 Years at Bain & Company, ending as a Senior Associate Consultant; Middle of the pack performer
- 2 Years at a LMM/Growth PE fund, not a big name (Will be 3 years by the time I matriculate); Top 1% performer
- Have worked extensively with a portfolio company and served as the Interim Chief of Staff

5. Leadership and Extracurricular Activities:
- In college, started a club that placed STEM/LS majors into business careers, and grew the club to 50+ members
- At Bain & Company, founded an affinity group (then known as 1GEN, now known as First at Bain) for FGLI Bainies; group has, as of a couple months ago, been recognized by Bain NA as a full affinity ground, the same as BABs, LATBA, etc. Affinity group grew to 100+ Bainies while I was at Bain
- Currently on the board of an non-profit that helps FGLI high school students get into and succeed in college; non-profit has about 50 students that are helped
- Currently writing a book about case interviews and the MBB interview process, unfinished

6. References
- Both letters of recommendation will come from my time in PE: First will come from my Principal, a Booth alum, who has written/stated that I’m "The best PE Associate that he’s ever worked with
- The Second will come from the CEO of a portfolio company I have worked extensively with. the CEO has said, "I will write you the best letter of rec that they’ve ever seen."

Join us on YouTube as we dive into the inspiring MBA journey of John, a PE/VC Associate and former management consultant. John was raised in a trailer in the backwoods of Alaska, and his family was consistently below the poverty line growing up. Being the first in his family to go to college, John ended up creating Bain & Company’s (and MBB’s) very first affinity group for FGLI individuals. He also came from a small and little-known growth equity fund so getting into both the Stanford GSB and Wharton (when he knew that they typically have access to candidates with much more backgrounds than ones such as John) was a massive hail mary for him. In addition, John did not use any MBA consultants on his journey to his MBA programs, which is a bit atypical as well

Hi, everyone,

We have added a new episode to our GMAT Club Podcast. In this conversation with John, we will understand his motivations for an MBA, what makes his story unique, rational behind applying to HBS, Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg, and Chicago Booth, how he navigated through the MBA application process, essays, resume, recommendations, interview etc., and what contributed to his success.

You can listen to it at the following link https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmatclub-pod ... l#p3326092

Hi guys
I’m in a mess and would appreciate any insights on my issue

I had a GRE score of 327 but decided to retake the test to aim for higher
I took the test online and my unofficial score was 334.
8 days later my results was published as cancelled. I have sent GRE an appeal and I was not given a tangible reason.
I’ve been advised to retake the test.
I honestly don’t know how to move forward.

1. I do not know that I would achieve that score again, it took me two months to retake and get the extra 7 marks
2. If I retake the test before the 4th, I won’t have my percentiles and Analytical writing score to include in the application

I would greatly appreciate any ideas here

You can apply with your old score of 327 and update the score later by email the adcom. Most schools accept updated scores.

Usually between six to seven weeks for round one and round two, much less after round three because they need to get things wrapped. And that round is much smaller. If you applied this month, February 16 https://mba.wharton.upenn.edu/applicati ... deadlines/

More than the way, you should have a clear and compelling reason to do so. if it is about informing a change in your professional status, then rather than a new CV, send this as an update in an email (no attachments).

Nothing like that. Indians especially Indian males form over represented group so competition is very. Especially in R2 I am assuming that getting invites is even harder. So everyone who has done so much work on the profile , scored really well on GMAT etc wants to understand what went wrong. One parameter that really help is how many Indians got calls in R2 to understand if these numbers were extremely low to begin with.

Also helps with strategizing which round to apply in the following year, just based on trends.

Yes exactly if it becomes apparent that applying in R1 next year makes no sense then one can target other schools

It’s you don’t have to.
Maybe he/she wants to find out where he/she lacked was it just the GMAT or something else.
Any response here would lead to a private chat probably.
Just ignore the message, it;s that simple.
