I was in that webinar and the director said approximately 15% of the class were admitted off the waitlist. It’s quite a yield compared to peer schools

congrats wtchaftcha!! did you tell the adcom that you had an impending deposit deadline? i had an encouraging call with the adcom but they made it seem like my decision will come out around the regular R2 notification date since i don’t have any impending deposit deadlines.

No, I didn’t have any impending deposit deadline. I just sent in a regular waitlist update and kept connected with the Fuqua community (attended webinars, talked to current students, scheduled an office hrs chat with adcom). It may have been released earlier to me since I’m an international student. AdCom mentioned they were keeping an eye on international students since they know processing all the visa and travel requirements is more difficult now due to the pandemic.

This is generous of Fuqua - to give out decisions before the decision notification date.

So admissions officer said this..they never give acceptances before decision date..they never give $$$ to waitlisted unless there has been significant improvement in the profile..mostly GMAT but remotely because of a move into feeder consulting/IB/tech companies..so..I’d just stay hopeful till 16th and await a decision

Hi all! I saw that Fuqua sent out an email to applicants to confirm whether they have committed to another program. Did anyone on the waitlist receive that communication?

86213 - no, i didn’t receive that email either, seems like it’s only for applicants who just applied this round

MilitaryPilot - i don’t think it’s true that WLed candidates are not eligible for scholarships unless they significantly change their profile. i had a member of the adcom reach out to me to discuss my WL status and they mentioned that i was still in consideration for merit scholarships. i have submitted a WL update to fuqua, but nothing changed about my stats

Curious that someone from Duke Financial Aid looked at my LinkedIn profile…… probably means nothing but curious to see who else had this happen.

I am glad to learn that. But logic dictates - if they loved us enough to give us $$$ then they would’ve admitted us with $$$, to begin with.

The Decisions will be released now on 2nd May- anyone who got converted from WL to admit in the previous round- can share if you get a call for admit or its a portal update?

I talked to some candidates who were admit from the WL and they received a call

Someone mentioned an acceptance on clear admit

Admitted with scholarship (not sure how much yet). Just got the call about 10 minutes ago. I’m in the western US. The woman mentioned she called a bit later given the time zone difference. So there may still be hope for anyone else waiting on an update!
