The dog owners are arguing that pit bulls are not inherently dangerous, and that the blame lies with bad owners who mistreat and train them to fight. To weaken this argument, we need evidence that suggests the breed itself may be inherently more dangerous, regardless of training or owner behavior.

Option B provides statistical evidence that pit bulls are involved in more attacks causing human injury than any other breed. This undermines the claim that it's primarily the owner's fault, suggesting instead that the breed might pose a higher inherent risk.

Why the others don't weaken the argument:
A supports the idea that pit bulls have a good historical reputation.
C reinforces the image of pit bulls as loving companions.
D could be seen as neutral or slightly supportive of the argument (people exploit positive traits for bad reasons).
E addresses a myth, and dispelling it actually helps the dog owners’ position.
So, B is the strongest choice that weakens the position of the dog owners.
