WOW - I want to see someone going through Number properties in 1 day.
I would send 4-6 weeks on Math and the same amount of time on verbal.

1 book per day is not possible. Since you are less on time, I would suggest, take up the MGMAT Number properties book and the Word Translations book. For the Verbal part, I found the CR and SC books good too. You may want to skip the RC book.

Hi,
I'm planning to write the GMAT on 24th and I'm trying to improve my score by 50 points or more. This is what I've realized:
The Quant books will certainly help improve your Quant Score. However, the verbal books are to used differently - the verbal books outline strategies which are to be internalized through practice. That takes a little time.

Thanks for the response guys.

So far, I'm hearing that Number Properties, Word Translations, and Sentence Correction are helpful.

Which books do you guys recommend if I were to pick 3-4 to focus on? I did very well on CR, and all I've been roughly the same on the 4 other sections.

Thanks!

For the time being, settle with these three books. In addition to this, use the 'GMAT Math Book' authored by bb, walker, Bunuel & shrouded1
The GMAT Math Book is an open GMAT Club Project and I am sure it will benefit you greatly.

Do the number properties and word translations for quant. If you need strategies/concepts for SC thn use the SC book, otherwise just brush up on ur verbal skills and you should be good :)

OP I spend about 15 hours on the number properties book (not only studying the book, but working the problems from the OG that the book recommends) and I think that is about the perfect amount. You can't do a book a day; I mean, maybe you "can" but you won't really know it. Some of the books are a bit shorter, but plan on 10-15 hours per.

I just saw this:

I think the number properties and equations guides are an absolute must. I recently purchased the sentence correction guide and it seems good so far (I have only done two chapters).

I wouldn't waste my money on the fractions guide, and I probably wouldn't buy the geometry guide either (although I would consider geometry to be my strong point for quant). I just ordered the word problems guide, so I have purchased 4 total.

But like I said, number properties is an absolute must.

Thanks, I've done 3 chapters of SC and so far have been very helpful.

To be honest, I've really just been doing questions based on my command of English. Read it out out loud and see if it sounds right. SC has already given me a few useful rules which I'll apply.

Anyone else agree that number properties and equations guides are a must?

Thanks again; I'm so glad I found this board.

Number properties and equations are amazing in my opinion! Especially for VICs (Variables in the Answer Choices) and Functions sections of Equations, those were very helpful. Number properties book in general taught me tricks I never used before.
