Really? So you wouldnt use the OG at all for the explanations and concepts?

Well, as I said that you should read the explanation to the answers at the end, but you shouldn't use the OG just for the explanations. Use it more like a workbook. The questions are very valuable, so do not waste them. One you get done with 5 MGMAT Quant Guides - OG questions will seem very easy.

Read MGMAT to first UNDERSTAND the fundamentals. Then use the OG to PRACTICE those concepts on the real exam questions.

Agreed. This is how the Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guides are set up actually. Each section in the Guides contains In Action problems that help you understand the concepts. The Guides then give you specific OG problems that will allow you to practice the concepts on real exam questions. If you can, try to complete the OG problem sets in one sitting and be sure to time yourself.
