I wanted to know if the portion 'which means that...incomes' is modifying the entire clause before it?
Hi nisarga14, that is the intent of this sentence; however, on GMAT, which can never modify a clause; which can only modify a noun/noun-phrase.

p.s. Our book EducationAisle Sentence Correction Nirvana discusses modifier properties of "which", their application and examples in significant detail. If you or someone is interested, PM me your email-id; I can mail the corresponding section.

EducationAisle - Thank you for sharing the material, it was helpful in understanding the concepts. However, I have a clarification question:

If we have a sentence like "The bench by the pond, which was recently painted, is my favorite place to reach a book", then is the word which modifying the entire noun phrase before it? I think these scenarios are determined more from a logical meaning stand point rather than from a grammatical stand point.

At the very least, these kind of sentences would be less preferred, because pond is closer to which than bench is.
