More completely adapted for life in the trees than are the other anthropoids, gibbons move with tremendous facility and ease.
(A) More completely adapted for life in the trees than are the other anthropoids, awkward, and wrong comparison Also I think it should be adapted to (B) Adapted more completely for tree life than any of the anthropoids, Adapted to (C) Being adapted more completely to tree life than any of the other anthropoids are, Correct. Though being is used. (D) Adapting more completely to life in the trees than the adaptation of the other anthropoids, I think comparison with the adaption is wrong (E) Having a more complete adaptation to life in the trees than that possessed by the other anthropoids,[/quote] Seems wordy to me, but can't really Eliminate out for other reason (is 'that possessed' correctly corresponding to 'adaptation to life in the trees'?)

(A) More completely adapted for life in the trees than are the other anthropoids, (B) Adapted more completely for tree life than any of the anthropoids, (C) Being adapted more completely to tree life than any of the other anthropoids are, - Though being is used, adapated to is the correct idiom. (D) Adapting more completely to life in the trees than the adaptation of the other anthropoids, (E) Having a more complete adaptation to life in the trees than that possessed by the other anthropoids,
OA is A. I was between A and B. But B is out cause of 'tree life'. However, in A...than 'ARE' seems to be an error , ARE is not really required. Any comments?

A is most appropriate as 'tree life' makes no sense

I hope you didn't eliminate tree life assuming 'tree life' meant tree's life. These are two different things.
And in A, are is required else will lead to comparison error to say that gibbons are adapted to life in the trees and not the other anthropoids (which makes absolutely no sense). You need a verb there to set things right

Tough one for me - Finally choose A
B - any of the anthropoids include gibbons !!! C - more awkward than A - being, tree life D - illogical comparison - adapting VS adaptation E - that ?? adaptation or life??
