I completely relate to you my friend. I had been in the same position as you a while back. Fortunately for me I had kept in touch with a lot of my seniors and they were the ones to guide me. Try talking to your seniors and colleagues who have done their MBA. Or attend an education fair, maybe? Had attended one sometime back, was pretty informative.

marthamary-Please create your own thread if you have any questions not related to the OP's questions.

OP-I think it all depends on the recruiting/placement of the PT programs. Some are worth moving and attending and some aren't.

Also, I think there might be a stigma of being a non-employed student in a PT program. (Not sure though.) Have you thought of one-year/full time programs?

Well since you are looking into Part-Time programs, why not look into a Online Blended-MBA program? That way, it doesn't matter where you live. You just fly to the campus every few weeks or months depending on how the program is set up. Duke, UNC, USC, Indiana, Carnegie Mellon, Maryland (Smith), Babson, and Florida all offer them and that's just in the US.

It is very much a viable plan and many, many people pursue such options. You won't be alone. The question you should be asking yourself is how certain are you in your career choice, how certain are you that the school you are pursuing will get you there and how much are you willing to pay in time, money and opportunity cost to make it all happen. Obviously these are all very personal decisions, but I highly recommend you really think through these questions before making a costly gamble on your future. Good luck to you!
