What program are you applying to? Depending on their average gmat you could be anywhere from fine to needing a retake.

Sorry to hear the experience. Putting a little bit more effort in quant should take you >45 level.
Try to fix the basics in quantitative part first then do as many problems as you can. Speed comes with practice.
I am sure you will manage to improve your quant score!

Really sorry about your experience but hey don't lose heart. Give it another go. It will turn out much better if you put in right steps.

All the best.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I'm giving myself 8 weeks. Ordered 2 of the MGMAT books (on inequalities and number properties) and will dive in head first when they arrive tomorrow. Hopefully, with my math "instincts" awakening (after hibernating for 6 years), I'll be able to get that Quant score up into the mid 40's.

Looking for entry into NYU, so it won't be easy.

I usually take the most time with CR. SCs I seem to breeze through. I'm a native speaker so I usually pick it out by the one that sounds right to me. This is also to my detriment though, as I'll occasionally miss a complex modifier or parallelism. There were 3 RC, 2 were 2 paragraphs, 1 was 3 paragraphs. I take notes on each paragraph and can usually answer each of the RC questions in an instant because of my notes.

Sorry to hear you weren't able to get the score you wanted this time. I'm sure round 2 will go better. :)

I think the MGMAT for the SC portion is a good idea- especially since you noted that you typically pick the one that sounds right to you. In the book, it specifically states that this is a common way to get tripped up on SC questions: we don't always speak as is grammatically correct. Go figure.

Good luck on your next try!
