Hi everyone,
I am very thankful for the helpful feedback and reflection that many friends on this forum have shared. Hence I would like to also share some of the stuff that I thought was helpful in my experience:
I actually took the GMAT twice, on January this year and the second one on February.
I got a 680 on the first test, I didn't have a great experience as I was thrown off by the IR when I first started: I got 49 for Quant and 34 for Verbal, 5.5 for AWA and 6 for IR.
So I decided to take it again. But I made sure to follow through with studying my error logs thoroughly. I was weaker on CR and then I practiced more on some books I bought.
Materials needed:
Books:
Official GMAT guide 2017
Official GMAT Quant and Verbal Review 2017
Advanced GMAT Quant with
Manhattan Prep(Don't bother unlocking the code on the back of the books, they are just the books' questions but in online form
Online materials:
eGMAT Verbal Online course: I cannot stress how instrumental
eGMAT has helped me pulled up my verbal score, the scholarium practice questions were GREAT to keep honing your CR analysis skill and other verbal weaknesses.
GMATPrep: Get the online practice tests from GMATPrep, they are the closest to the type of test difficulty you will get on the actual test day.
And keep an
error log for the wrong questions that you get in your practice. They are really useful to help you keep track of your mistakes and ensure that you drill certain concepts into your head.
PS: I have a template for AWA which another student posted. Just follow the template and write accordingly to the prompt.
Please let me know if there's any question you may have. I am happy to help fellow GMAT test takers in their MBA journey
Best regards
Wayne
