Hi
I am currently very stressed by how my GMAT score, especially the verbal part which I'm strong at, drops in the last few practice tests.
My score records are as follows:
Apr 22 - GMAT prep #1 : 520 (Q25, V36)
May 22 - GMAT prep #2 : 570 (Q35, V34)
Jun 22 - Actual exam 530 (Q29, V34)
Jul 22 - GMAT Prep #3 : 500 (Q30, V29)
Jul 22 - GMAT Prep #4 : 500 (Q33, V25)
The target score I am aiming for is to break above 550, which is the mean score of my target school (not very competitive).
Everyone says I can definitely make the 20-point improvement happen but the more practice tests I do the less I get (even though I take them at least 2 weeks apart)
My study plan for the three months before the last exam was reading all the
MGMAT Quant guides. Then I did some of the practice OG22 questions, mostly on easy Quant questions and occasionally Med-Hard Verbal questions. I also took a course on both quant and verbal but it was with a local tutorial school and I would say they are not the best at coaching GMAT...
After the exam, I was still stressed about quant scores so I review
MGMAT Quant materials. I do admit that during all these times, I did not touch my
MGMAT Verbal guides at all and did much fewer verbal questions than quant ones. Could my over focus on quant be detrimental to my verbal strength? I'm not quite sure as I'm a humanities student so I have been quite confident in my English abilities and I'm not sure how verbal skills can deteriorate?
I think I should start going through my
MGMAT verbal guides but at the same time I'm very worried that I will forget all my math basics and strategies for quant which I am very weak at when I start studying for verbal
I'm also disappointed that my quant skills do not improve much at all despite almost 5 months of intense studying
