Paragraph from article: Death was a way of life for Gilles Montmorency-Laval, Baron de Rais, who rose as one of France’s war heroes only to become one of itsmost notorious villains. Long believed to be a sadistic child murderer, historians are revisiting his story to seek what truth lies beneath the tales of his monstrous cruelty in 15th-century France.
My question is, in this paragraph the modifier "Long believed ....murder" used correctly or wrong?? Because i think it is modifying Historians rather than modifying the G M L..
If it is wrong.. Should I stop reading this resource for GMAT verbal prep..
