Hi all,

I'm asking for your advice on how best to boost my quant score.

What I've done:
- Read all of the MGMAT books
- Created index cards as I read those books that I can study
- Started doing all of the practice problems that you can download on the GMAT site (i.e. the pack with ~300 questions)
- Had an error log to track what I got wrong / why

I've also done 4 practice tests. I scored consistently in the 70-75th percentile for Quant on the practice tests, but then on actual test day, I scored in the ~45th percentile. As you can imagine this took a big hit to my score (my verbal has been pretty solid)

My goal is to get above 740, which is doable with my Verbal. I just need to get my Quant up a lot. I'm willing to work hard at it, but would appreciate targeted pointers on where to focus my efforts. My next test is in ~3 weeks

Thanks in advance!

As you have made error log, find out the areas you are weak in ...if this weakness is due to knowledge gap go back to your concepts and revise the segment after revision do practice of questions related to that concept, then take CATs know your result and review your mistakes

Hi therussian203,

You should dedicate around 2 months to prepare for GMAT. If you are willing to study dedicatedly for 2 months, you are sure to achieve your goal. I believe you may benefit from taking a GMATPREP course. You can try out Math Revolution to work on your Quant.

I must add that if you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in quant; a subscription to GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them.

Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP, Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.

Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practise tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.

I would also encourage you to purchase the latest version of OG and the GMATPREP QP1 for some great additional practice.

Hope this helps. All the best.
