670 is not a bad score at all. Yes everyone wants a 700 but even gmac says that a person can get + or - 30 than your true potential. You have great work ex and some international experience too. From what i have heard european and canadian schools are not very stringent on gmat. You could try schools like hec , lbs, i.e, essec etc. Canada is also a good option. Work on your application lor and interviews and you will be fine

Thanks for your inputs! :)

1. 09-01-2016 - 610 [Q49, V24]
2. 30-04-2016 - 600 [Q47, V26]
3. 09-09-2017 - 670 [Q49, V33]

Following are my last 4 mock scores :

Exam Pack 1 - GMAT Prep 3 - 740 [Q50, V41]
Exam Pack 1 - GMAT Prep 4 - 660 [Q49, V31]
Exam Pack 2 - GMAT Prep 5 - 610 [Q45, V28]
Exam Pack 2 - GMAT Prep 6 - 650 [Q49, V30]

The score of 740 might raise some eyebrows, but the only difference in this mock was that I got 12/13 RC questions right.

When I look at the scores of my previous attempts and the last 4 mocks, I should be pretty content with my latest exam scores. However, I am a bit disappointed as I was targeting above 700. But may be I was expecting too much for the big day.
I'd normally say that 670 is a good score, and that you should go ahead and apply with it. But... that 740! Were the questions in that test fresh, or had you already seen some of them? I'm asking because it's just not possible to luck into a 740, or into a 41(!) in verbal. And if that's a "genuine" score, you are very much capable of getting a 740 on the actual exam. Of course, whether you should spend more time and money chasing that score is another matter altogether.

Thank you sir for your response :). I gave that exam for the first time and the RC passages seemed simple to me, which is rarely the case most of the times. The break up of V41 in that test was SC - 12/17, CR - 5/11 and RC - 12/13. When I compare these scores with those of other mocks, the major difference was in RC. In other mocks I score higher in SC and CR, but RC was not this good. In few mocks I got same number of questions right, but still got a very low score. For example I got V31 with 8 questions wrong.

I heard that the accuracy is not the only factor, but the more I try to understand the algorithm, the more I get confused. I am very confident in SC. I take more time in RC and CR, because my reading skills are not that good. I end up re-reading multiple times.

Also on the exam day, I saw 3 BF questions. All of them equally spaced out, the third last question was a very tough BF and due to lack of time and tiring out, I had to make an educated guess and move on. I read at different forums that seeing a BF question is a good indicator. May be I missed the opportunity by getting them wrong.

I do not want to give up, but I also want to focus on other aspects such as working on my applications. I am willing to apply within the first deadline. The biggest problem is that I am client location and loaded with many responsibilities, it is even difficult for me to get time to appear for the exam. If I were to have 2-3 months of time with normal office work, I would have given another shot.

Also, I do not aspire to be in the top most school or end up in a very high paid job. My intention is to go to a decent college, learn new skills and just not pressurize myself to just study and aspire to get a high paid job. I want to earn a decent salary, work for max 7-8 hours a day and focus on other aspects of life such as sports, outdoor activities, spending time with family, doing some social work etc.

This all might sound lame, but that is what I expect from life. :)

That's perfectly understandable. The GMAT is just one part of what you have to give schools and the rest of your application deserves your best. As for your exam, don't worry about the boldface questions. There are easy, medium, and hard boldface questions, and the GMAT exam doesn't treat them any differently.

If you somehow manage to get more time, take another look at the possibility of taking the exam again. Otherwise, a 670 is a solid score (82) with which to apply. Congratulations on the big jump in score, and all the best!
