Guys ,
I have finished the OG-12 and Kaplan CR . I would like to practice some more problems of CR and
therefore was wondering of any other sources . I was thinking of going for LAST materials . Just
wanted to have suggestions related to LSAT . Is it worth giving a try.
A lot of people use LSAT materials to supplement their GMAT CR studies. As someone who's taught both tests for over 20 years (just typing that makes me feel old!), I usually recommend against it - or at least proceeding very carefully.
While there are some similarities between LSAT LR and GMAT CR, there are a lot of differences. Here are the two biggest:
1) the LSAT has a lot of emphasis on formal logic; you need know nothing about formal logic for the GMAT; and
2) the GMAT has 4 main CR question types: weakening, strengthening, assumption and inference. On the GMAT, the "big 4" make up roughly 90% of CR; while all 4 of those figure prominently on the LSAT, the LSAT has a lot of other common question types as well.
So, if you're going to use LSAT questions, be very very picky about which ones you use. If you're going to look at an LSAT study guide, be aware that many of the tips provided for LSAT LR are completely irrelevant to GMAT CR.
