Every student has a different learning style and pace. I know people who have even scored 760 without tutors and also know people who’ve only managed 670 with a tutor. It’s all about what you’re comfortable with. As a baseline, take one practice test without any study to benchmark where you stand and how much you need to improve your score. That will help plan forward.
Yep. I actually studied without a prep course of any type. I did develop a study routine with an uncle who teaches at an Ivy--that he helped develop for me. It was basically a 5-6 week crash course, that required about 35 hours a week and got me comfortable working under time restrictions. I will say I was already fairly comfortable with large portions of the quant section. My score was roughly a 780.
