3. Usually the score is not what will distinguish you at the top programs. Instead having a strong undergrad with competitive GPA which you have but also need a highly ranked undergrad. Then your work experience reinforces that elite pedigree so to speak and then your additional accomplishments above and beyond your peers is what sort of seals the deal.
Scores should be consistent but don’t need to be super high. For the top programs a high gym at score for domestic applicant is just a checkbox that you’re good academically you’ve put in your effort and you can do it. It’s a bit different for international students who may come from unknown institutions and so having a validation of a very high score especially in the hyper competitive environment from China or India is important
A high GMAT can still help you get a scholarship from places such as Ross or Stern or Fuqua for example or Yale or tuck.
If you’re looking for consulting goals, these programs are quite strong with their placements. I’ve heard a number of series about MBB‘s preferring elite school names but I’m not sure I see that proof on paper in the stats and in the employment reports
