Hello everyone,
I have been preparing for the GMAT for the past two months and will be taking my first attempt on July 11. My target score is between 695.
For preparation, I am using the GMAT Official Guides 2024-2025 for Quant, Verbal, and Data Insights. I have also purchased the GMAT Official Practice Bundle, which contains more than 300 additional questions, along with six official mock exams.
In Quant, my performance has been quite strong. I am consistently achieving 80-85%+ accuracy on easy, medium, and hard questions.
In Data Insights, my overall accuracy is around 80%. I perform well on easy and medium questions, but Data Sufficiency remains a challenge, and I notice my accuracy dropping to around 70% on harder questions.
In Verbal, Critical Reasoning is one of my strengths. My accuracy is above 85% on easy and medium questions, although I see some decline on harder questions. Reading Comprehension is comparatively weaker. I am comfortable with easy and medium passages, but I find hard RC questions difficult to manage consistently.
To improve, I maintain a detailed
error log for every section, recording mistakes, traps, recurring patterns, and key takeaways from my practice sessions.
I would appreciate some feedback from experienced test-takers or instructors. Based on my current preparation, am I on the right track toward a 695? Are the Official Guides, Official Practice Questions, and six official mocks sufficient for achieving my target, or should I consider additional resources?
I would also like to know how closely the actual GMAT exam resembles the official practice questions and mock tests in terms of difficulty, question style, and overall testing experience. Did you find the real exam to be similar to the official materials, or were there any noticeable differences that caught you by surprise?
Additionally, are there any specific areas where you think I should focus my efforts during the remaining weeks before the exam?
