Hello everyone.I hope you are doing good.
I have a question.I wasted one year after my graduation doing nothing and now need to change.I have bought materials for GMAT old edition at the middle of this year.So I need to sit for GMAT asap. The older version of GMAT will only be available till the end of Jan 2024.I am a student of business background and forgot the maths I did in my earlier days.
So I need to pass and get a good score on GMAT in order to add weight to my application as I lack in job experience and extracurricular activities.
So should I start preparing for GMAT old edition as I have the resources ready and available. Or should I start preparing for Focus edition which I have no idea of so far? Please Don’t make fun of me.

You actually don’t require something extra or different to study for the Focus edition. In fact, some topics have been shelved by the test makers. You can go through this post to gain more insights about GMAT FE- gmat-focus-edition-everything-you-need-to-know-408213.html

Thanks but I heard scoring higher will be much more difficult in the focus edition.Like the current 700 will be equivalent to 650 in the new edition. And business schools still root for 700+ score as a cultural stereotype has been built around this score. So what do you suggest?I need to be prepared asap.will the old books still help me for the focus edition?

Both the exam are based on different scoring scales. You cannot compare a 700 on the classic edition with a 705 on the FE. Schools will compare both scores by using percentiles. Check out this link where there is a detailed comparison btw scores- https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat-focus-ed ... your-score

Old books are good enough for Quant & Verbal sections.

-Manhattan Prep(full set)
-Veritas Prep(Quant and SC,CR)
-Powerscore CR
Suffice then?

I also have the new OG for FE

Will the older OG 2021 help as I have a printed version of that?

Official guides are a must for sure but it is completely based on your personal preference when it comes to private study materials. Everyone uses their own permutations & combinations while selecting study materials. If you are having doubt, then read through the debrief of people, which can guide you well regarding this- share-gmat-experience-8/
