so unfortunately we’re kind of in a situation because of the market shrinking and probably people sharing PDFs the industry has declined down to just a single option…. Thankfully it’s a good option but it would be better to have good options 😇

If you’re looking to buy books now, you can get the current addition of Manhattan prep or you can buy an old one, I actually preferred the previous addition from 10 years ago. It had individual books for each concept. It’s probably Uber cheap on Amazon. You can use it until the 2024 edition comes out at the end of June or if you’re not looking to start studying until then then just wait for the new edition to come out.

ugh. Typo. Edition. Not addition.

Sure. Sounds good. But don’t delay studying just because you feel that the new edition of the book will have some New questions that are only relevant in 2024. I know the old stuff is crap… it is not. On my real test in Feb 2002 I got stuck on a probability question. Unfortunately I did not study probability and did not realize it was tested on the GMAT. I spent 4 minutes trying to solve that question. I ended up guessing it and I guessed it wrong but this question imprinted in my mind. Lo and behold, I faced it again in the brand new GMAT prep focus that came out last June. So keep in mind there’s about a 20 year lag between the test and the practice questions. So if a 2002 question was good enough for GMAT prep then 2014 books will be just fine too. 😇

It is a fantastic idea to split the beast into small chunks and just start with fractions or assumption questions. I hate when people ask the question of how can I increase my score by 100 points on the GMAT. There are so many ways but it’s almost like asking how to solve world hunger. There’s no single solution. It has to be tackled individually on the local level so approaching it in small bites is a great idea. Make sure you continue to refresh as you move from chapter to chapter and you go back to your lessons learned. I recommend handwriting your notes because that will save the material in your mind for longer

hello all , Can any one suggest which course is best for gmat focus , TTP vs manhatten , I can only see ttp advertisement every where which makes me kind of skeptical also I tried there 5 days free trial ,it seems they just have the same OG gmat content with focus brand , is manhatten any better than TTP?

hey
I’m currently reaching 90% accuracy on 600-655 Verbal CR questions, but only 60-70% on 655-700, will this be enough to get a minimum 655?

so… critical reasoning is only 15 or 20% of the test. You have to also do quant another sections to get 655 😉

If you’re looking for sectional performance however, I understand where you’re coming from. This is a very imprecise method but it’s a lot more efficient then taking a full practice test .

I would say that you want to take a mix of 10 Questions out of three easy, three or four medium and three hard ones.

If you can answer nine out of 10, you were looking at 98 percentile

If you can answer eight out of 10, you looking at 90th percentile

If you could answer seven out of 10, you’re looking at 75th percentile

so if your goal is around 90th percentile then you should aim to answer eight out of 10 correctly and only then moving onto the next topic and next section in your book or course. That’s the very quick and dirty method I used and I think it worked just fine

hmm
adaptive quiz gave me one 605-655 question, five - 655-700 questions, and four - 705-805 questions. I answered correctly all 605-655 and 655-700. Six in total and failed four hard.

if we extrapolate that to the percentile, what would be the percentile? :) sounds like a great feature to develop for the quiz.

any suggestions for the road map and next steps? should I break the accuracy of 655-700 to get 80-90%? or get into 705+ questions?

This wasn’t my formula. My formula was three easy, four medium and three hard. You’ve made modifications and I don’t know how to translate this already crude method… this seems to out you maybe around 70-75th percentile. Maybe 🤷‍♂️ this is very approximate.

Everything in this world is open to interpretation 😂 But I would say it is hard. The two that followed our medium and the remaining bottom two difficulties are easy.

as you have already mentioned you are a bank employee ,I am assuming you are extremely strong in aptitude , however if not it takes minimum 6 months to prepare for gmat , please note 700+ score is high end score when it comes to gmat focus , so 6 months also might not be enough if your base is not strong
