hey, i appeared for the gmat focus yesterday and scored a 735. i was just confused about the sustainability of the current percentiles. a 735 now stands at 99.6% but with the next revision, it seems likely to me that it would come down to 99.4% or something and then 735 would come under the 99 percentile bracket. do you reckon that this might happen. also should i appear for the gmat again in your opinion because i believe on a better day i can cross the 745 mark.
thank you!
You went from 630 to 735?
Congratulations on the score!
GMAC, in the 50 years of their existence, published fractional percentiles for the first time a year ago. In the last 49 years you would not even know if you received the 99.4 or a 99.6 th percentile.
I do not know any Business school that would be taking out of microscope and a bunch of calculators and trying to dissect scores.
I’m not sure where you’re looking to apply and perhaps there are some obsessive schools but for a top program, a score is a secondary element. You are expected to have a fairly high score but you’re also expected to have head and torso and a strong career and the personality and the strong drive and hopefully some leadership skills. If you’re missing something, Something critical, 0.2% are not going to offset it.
