If you are aiming to apply in R1 Aug 2025 for the Fall 2026 intake, then you may be just in time or late, depending on how fast you can prepare. You will need a score in hand, ideally by May end (worse case June end), since your school selection and everything that follows therefrom will remain on pause. In order to prepare strong applications, you need to budget good 2.5 - 3 months. Everything that needs to be done requires time and effort.
When do the Early bird application start?

Hello everyone,

I am interested in taking the gmat however I have not taken a gmat before. I recently decided I wanted to get an mba and wanted to know what kind of advice was available for someone like me or suggestions. I would like to apply to for a program in texas either fall semester 2025 or Spring 2026. I have a BS in psychology. Thanks for taking the time to read my post and any help is awesome.

It's not called Early bird. I presume you mean Early Admit rounds - it varies by school and not every school offers this round. Look up the schools of interest.

Hi everyone! I’ll be giving the GMAT towards the end of this year. I’m planning to take an official practice exam to gauge my baseline, although on the free exam that LBS has on their website, I scored 455 approx. How reliable is that version?

Sorry, No idea. Please Take the official one. There are quite a few tests you can squeeze out from the free practice test, you can get probably six so you can definitely use one for a diagnostic.

Also, try not to study more than three or four months because the gym mat is a test it’s based on nuance and little things which is super easy to forget if you stretch out your prep over six months or more.

Got a math book such as Math Foundations by MGMAT or Kaplan. Super cheap. Or sign up with TTP if you prefer a course and interactive. Work on it for 1-2 weeks and don’t rush. That’s it. You can then apply this formula to any other subject such as biology or plumbing or anything else you want to learn.

Don’t worry, you will not learn the wrong math or whatever you think is preventing you from learning. Just start.

@bb - I was looking at TTP courses through MARKETPLACE on GMAT CLUB. These courses are marketed differently on GMAT Club by TTP. They mention that these courses have 1200+ HD video lessons but when I went to their website to purchase it, the courses don’t have these videos lessons mentioned. Rather they show you a course of 999 USD to purchase to gain access to these videos lessons, or else it is just text based lessons, no videos.
But on GMAT Club website, TTP is fooling members by showing that these videos lessons are part of all the courses, even the cheapest ones while that is not the real scenario. It seems intentional and looks like that TTP is trying to cheat the GMAT Club members.

Usually SPD programs taking a very small number of students, you want as high status as possible but if you have other elements and aspects of your profile that help elevate you such as published papers and lots of teaching experience, that may help but the score of 605 is probably not going to help too much .... I think you can very well ask the department at the schools you’re targeting to see what they feel.

IIRC, Manhattan rep once mentioned that their Foundations of Math ebook is now free.

Very much possible. It’s likely available on Amazon in printed edition for a few bucks because it’s out of print and no longer produced or published I guess. It does have some geometry which you can skip because Geo has not been stripped off.

Jim at Club also has a free math book but it’s not really suitable for someone who is struggling with math as it contains more advanced topics mostly 😇
