Hello,
This is my first post on this forum, or on any forum for that matter, so pardon me if I'm not doing this right. I was not really sure which would be the best place to post these issues, so I thought I should crash the party here!
A bit of context:
1. So I gave my GMAT exam today and scored a 750.
2. I'm targeting one of the top B-Schools as per the Financial Times Ranking and intend to target the Spring Session of admission in 2024.
3. Finally, I'm an Engineer. I began my career with Deloitte Consulting as a Business Technology Analyst in 2015 and I worked there for just around
9 months. After that I shifted to a startup as a Digital Product Consultant and worked there till 2022 December (i.e
7 year 9 months). Finally, I shifted to a small enterprise (in terms of turnover) which builds ships for the military in January this year
(2 months and counting) as a Senior Project Manager.
So here's my problem, recently I got a good opportunity to work with a federal government agency that is involved in Investment Facilitation and Handholding of foreign investors. Now I'm in two minds, as I was told by a friend that having two stints (Deloitte and the Ship Building firm) each of which lasted less than an year might appear as a red flag to B-Schools. Moreover, if I go for the Spring 2024 admissions, I will end up with yet another short work stint with the government agency which would last less than an year
(6 months give-or-take). In conclusion, should I join the government agency (it is really cool :/), or should I sit tight at my present place of work? I would welcome any advice from the forum members
Thanks!
PS. Additionally, it would be very helpful if someone could point me to where I can post such profile/admission related questions without bugging you guys on this thread.
