New Version of GMATPrep installation error

Question

Hi everyone,

Rebecca (Official GMAT Rep from GMAC) has mentioned about the latest version of GMATPrep in the link given below.
new-gmatprep-update-version-149820.html

I have downloaded it and installed on my Windows 7 laptop. When I had entered my mba.com site email user id and password, an unknown error screen is appearing.I had uninstalled the file, restarted the machine, then installed the GMATPrep again. But, the same screen is showing up again.

I'm able to log in to the mba.com sit with my email id and password.

Please see the attached image.

Can some one please look in to this issue?

Did you have the previous version installed or was it a clean install?

Edit: Mine was an upgrade from the previous edition and I have the same issue - Unknown Error

Thanks for the quick reply BB. Appreciate your help. I had the previous version installed first. Uninstalled the old version, deleted the files then tried to install the latest GMATPrep.

I am having the same error too. Waiting for a fix ! I have gmatprep 1.0 and gmatprep 2.1.xxx installed and running fine before. today when i tried to upgrade gmatprep 2.1 to 2.2 , i was having the same error as above

We've uncovered a temporary problem with the user authentication service and are looking into it as I type. It should be online again soon so please try again later.

While installing the GMAT prep software yesterday and got a weird "Error 2 : Specified file not found,unable to start NLS service" .

I resolved the issue by myself but in case you guys run into it ,perform the below :

1)Go to services ( type "services.msc" in your  Run  box)
2) Make sure your  windows event log  service under "services" is in running mode. If not,just start it.
3)Make sure your  NLS( Network List service)  is in running mode. If not,just start it.

After you checked the below, try installing the package again.

Thank you ! the error is fixed this morning !
hmm I took a practice test ( 300 score of course with random answer selections ). Awesome, I could review the test at any later date even if i exit the software after completing the test. No need of saving screenshots anymore ! Of course I loved the timing feature that is just awesome where it graphically shows the time taken per section and for each problem !

The only feature I can request of next update is the difficulty level of each problem in a review screen after taking a test !
