Hello All,
I am a non-traditional candidate applying to business school. I have 8 years of experience working as a Corporate Paralegal at an international law firm and 2 real estate private equity firms. While working at these 2 places, I was able to lead a team of lawyers in doing pro Bono work in low income communities. In addition, I was able to lead a team of executives at the PE firms through the due diligence process when the firm made Acquisitions. At the law firm I was heavily involved on the legal side of M&A.
I sat on an advisory council at a local hospital where I advocated for better medical services in low income neighborhoods and I managed 2 non-profits where I supervised interns from Americorp programs.
My goal is to go into Real Estate IB and hope to one day create a firm that specialize in acquiring residents properties and making them affordable for seniors.
My GPA is a 3.6 and my GRE Score is a 330. Do I have a shot at a M7 school?

Thanks for reaching out. You have a non-traditional profile indeed but very interesting and I see lots of strengths! Schools will especially like the team leadership experience and community impact. Your stats are competitive for M7 schools, though odds would vary within the M7. Also would want to ensure your Quant score is high enough, or you had good grades in Quant courses (e.g., Math, Stats, Econ, etc.) from undergrad, since Quant skills will be seen as important to IB. As a non-traditional applicant, and a slightly more experienced applicant, I think it would be wise to have at least 1 or 2 non-M7 options as well. If you're interested in Real Estate IB, I'd for sure check out Cornell, Darden, and Georgetown as some other options.
