I am from a business background, I just did my BBA with a fairly average GPA. I didn't focus much during undergrad and messed around too much, but I figure it's time to get serious.
I've always had a knack for math, and I did specialize in Business Analytics, so I have a few basic data analytical skills under my belt. I want to transition to finance, I just have a feeling I really belong there and that I would thrive in such an environment.
Regardless, I'm applying to a few master's in business analytics courses. I'm an international student so I'm trying to get a STEM degree in the US that'll help me work there and build a career in the long term, and a master's degree seems ideal given I only have a few internships done and an MBA wouldn't make sense.
I was also considering finance courses, but business analytics seems to have a broader job market, but I still want to keep a few finance courses applied as an option.
Most quantitive finance or financial engineering courses need 2 sems of calc and algebra at an undergrad level, sadly something I don't have cuz of my BBA. But Northeastern seems to be okay with that. And their masters in finance full time is the same as their masters in Quantitative finance. And they aren't on any ranking lists like quantnet. I was asking about their employment rate and average salary and they simply said they cannot share those details.
The school seems to be respected to some extent, but is this kind of a scam course? or are they getting away with calling their degree a quantitative finance degree but it's more of just a finance degree? I'm pretty confused. Need some help, someone who can give me some clarity about the course, please.
