TheNightKing - I have downloaded the ESR and will have a look at it tomorrow, as it is now pretty late where I live. I will respond in a PM, since I think an ESR is a personal matter. However, I do wish to touch on something you mentioned in a PM to me, and to do so publicly. You will not find links of any sort in my signature for now because my private tutoring is going fine for the time being. I enjoy my work, and whenever I chase more money, I end up less happy. I decided to contribute to GMAT Club because I believe in its mission, to share useful information with those who are preparing for a test. I am a firm believer in knowledge-sharing without a price, and in all honesty, I feel uncomfortable charging anything at all for tutoring, but I am not so wealthy that I can afford to provide services for free. That is why I conduct my tutoring on the side. I help people who contact me for all kinds of test prep, but this forum is a pure hobby. I believe I have something to contribute from time to time that will help the community, and in keeping with my personal values, as long as I can afford to provide such contributions separate from business interests, I will look to do so. Understand, I am not throwing shade at anyone else who does scour these threads looking for business--everyone has a right to make a living, and some people, indeed some very talented tutors and teachers, are in quite a different position from mine. I just like to keep things simple, and this is what works for me.

I will be in touch. Cheers.

- Andrew

TheNightKing kudos for sharing your experience. Your gesture shows strength of character and guts. This single act of yours is why I believe you will go on to improve your performance on the GMAT. The only word I would like to add to all that has been said already is that you should focus on getting the underlying background of the verbal section. When it comes to CR, I would recommend powerscore CR bible. You can get one and take the time to go through the book thoroughly as many times as possible.

By all means, please continue to post solutions on the forum. Don't take a break from doing that. I am a testament of the positive rewards of continually posting on the forum. For many people including myself learning is more effective when it is active rather than passive. Active learning is enhanced when you continually post your solutions on the forum.

I wish you all the best bro, hoping to read more posts from you on SC butler.

Hi TheNightKing,

To start, let’s look at the good news - Q46 is a very solid score. In fact, it's only 2 points below your last official practice exam. So, the real issue is verbal right? Since you do not believe that nerves negatively affected your test day performance, it’s likely that you have some lingering weaknesses that were exposed on test day. Furthermore, it’s possible that, in your preparation, particularly in verbal, you did not really learn to do what you have to do in order to score high on the actual GMAT. Rather, you picked up on some patterns that were effective in getting you relatively high scores on practice tests. So, for you to hit your score goal, your preparation, particularly for verbal, probably needs to be more complete, meaning that you have to go through the various types of GMAT questions carefully to find your exact weaknesses, fill gaps in your knowledge, and strengthen your skills.

For verbal specifically, you have to become more skilled at clearly defining the differences between trap choices and correct answers. Otherwise, you will get stuck guessing between two choices or be surprised to find that you incorrectly answered questions that you thought you answered correctly. Becoming more skilled in this way takes carefully analyzing all of the answer choices to lots of verbal questions to develop an eye for the logical differences between the choices. In other words, you have to go beyond answering practice questions and reading explanations to doing deep analysis of questions to learn to see everything that is going on in them.

You also may find my article with more information regarding how to score a 700+ on the GMAT helpful.

If you’d like more specific advice on how to improve your quant and verbal skills, feel free to reach back out. Good luck!

Thank you everyone for your support. I will respond to all the PMs. I just took a few days off.

I am not fully back but I am recovering you can say.

I am yet to do the following things:
1. Analyse my ESR. (at least retrieve as much information as I can)
2. Figure out what next? Second attempt? Yes. When? Don't know. And so on..
3. Figure out other things in life because MBA is not the end of the world and I have been postponing so many things for MBA.

Also an update, my AWA score is 5.5 I probably did spell a couple of words wrong here and there.
