Hi, everybody

reasons->plural, why use 'is' instead of 'are'?

If we keep aside the modifier 'without a doubt/undeniably...' which modifies the subject...we get

Vegetarians believe that there __ a wealth of good reasons.....

here 'a wealth' is represented i.e what is believed y vegetarians... and 'a wealth' is singular, so 'is' is applicable.

Hence,.. E is the only options using 'is' with correct subject 'vegetarians'.

Hope its clear

Why not vegans? As in C

C is grammatically correct, however, E makes a bit more sense overall.

Vegetarians refrain from eating any meat. Vegans, on the other hand, also spare any edible animal products such as milk or eggs. Consequently, one could say that vegans are a bit stricter in their beliefs.

To circle back to the question, the relinquishment on meat is the only criterium for vegetarians. That's why E makes more sense imo.

Hope that helps

C changes the meaning of the sentence.Vegans are not vegeterians.Vegans and vegeterians are influenced by different fundamental values.
Vegans are more inclined to animal rights and protecting them, that is why they don't eat meat, Vegeterians on the other hand may not eat meat for health, religious or other reasons. You dont need to know this but in a case such as this, E is a better option because it keeps the original word 'Vegetarians'

Hello Amit

Why are we considering ‘a wealth of reasons’ as singular whereas we consider ‘ a number of reasons ‘ as plural........ pls suggest..

Statement: Numerous vegetarians believe that there are, doubtlessly, a wealth of good reasons to stop eating meat.

a wealth is singular, thus is, instead of are, will be used. Thus options A, B and D are already out.

Among C and E, E, unlike C, includes original word vegetarian.
