Lessons learned from previous event:
  • Have an easier way to identify people at the bar (although walking around asking random people "Are you from.... the forum?" served as a good icebreaker)
  • Hold the event a little bit later (6:30 or 7 pm instead of 6pm)
  • Have a more intimate venue / less crowded
  • Nametags work (I actually brought them last time but neglected to hand them out... luckily Aenigma thought ahead and brought her own)

You can put me down as an attendee again. I can try to make it either of those days.

As far as Carnival goes - I actually went there in December. It's a bit weird, but not that loud (which is definitely good). Their Carnival games were very expensive too if you ever wanted to play them. Think $4 to throw a ball to knock over milk bottles. If you wanted to do something along the line of Dave and Busters, there is one on 42nd st. I don't know if it's a good idea or not, but it's definitely different.

i would like to attend!!! especially since i missed out on the last one. not too keen on carnival games, i'll probably just drink and watch if thats the plan. anyhow, last time looked like a success so looking forward to meeting yall! hope theres a big turnout!

No chance on 31st. I am picking up a pup bulldog this weekend so might have difficulty getting around that week, or quite a few for the meantime.

So I reserved space for 8-12 of us at Dove on 4/7 at 7PM. If more come, we'll just hijack more couch space. I'll try to call back tomorrow and ask for the back corner, past the bar. I think that's the best area for conversating.

I'll plan to get there a little early to make good on happy hour prices. I'll also plan to recognize shadowsjc and NYCAnalyst the first two times I pass them in order to avoid any sarcastic texting.

Yeah, the drinks are absurdly good for 6 bucks. They also have a grasshopper which is double digit dollars but tastes just like the best mint chocolate chip sundae + booze I've ever had. And I mix booze with my ice cream A LOT.
