There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
I am waiting to be chosen from the waitlist as well. A Stern Alumnus has recently advised me that the worst thing to do is to simply wait. He suggested additional recommendations, campus visits and any other innovative means of getting your name mentioned to the admissions office staff (in a positive light of course). Providing NEW information may help them evaluate your candidacy, do not offer previously submitted material worded differently. Rather than hit the refresh button on the status check page, try to improve your chances! I hope to see everyone in September.
to those that submitted additional info - did you receive a response from adcom confirming the receipt of your additional info? what was the tone of the response? was it generic or from a real person? etc

Are you retaking GMAT after Sept 15?
I saw your earlier post about asking for classes etc. I'd suggest if you are crunched for time check out your nearest Kaplan center. It might be worth it.
