Does anyone have any insight as to how these rolling admissions work with Langone? Does the Ad Com look at all reapps first, or do they look at highest GMAT scores first, etc?
I'm starting to get nervous as I read about all of these acceptances coming in. I haven't heard anything yet.
- 27 yr male - 710 GMAT - 3.3 gpa from state school - investment banking experience from top 10 NYC bank - modest EC activity - letters of rec were written by stern alumni - weekend program - submitted an essay for the describe yourself creatively question.
I'm not sure what CD you were referring to, but I didn't receive any study materials for the quant test other than the sample questions I found on the Stern website. I guess I can research the solutions to those questions but I'm one of those people who need to brush up on quant skills before starting classes. Stern suggested the GMAC MBA Survival Kit but I discovered it's for PCs only and not for Macs, which does not work for me. Does anyone know of any other good MBA quant preparation books or softwares? Anyone heard of MBAmath.com? Is it helpful?
I ordered the mba survival quantitative skills cd from mba.com as suggested on the stern website. I think a lot has changed since last year, $2000 deposit versus $1000 and now you have to buy the CD verus them sending it to you, evidently.
Congrats to all that were accepted. I am a recent graduate. Its a great program. NYU has great professors.
Make the most out of your time there. You can go to class or you can take a big role. I recommend getting involved. It will be worth it.
Also, there seems to be a rift between the FT and PT students. Don't play those games. Make sure you have your A game for every class. Trust me, my wife is a Full timer, I was a PTimer. Everyone is pretty cool but occasionally you will run into the guy that has it out for the PTimers. Do your best to change that person's mind. We all get the same degree. Demand excellence from all.
