Congrats! You forgot the most important stuff: your stats =)

Nothing exceptional but here goes -

- 28 yrs old, Indian Male IT
- Undergrad - Below avg school back in India. No GPA system, 72% overall. It was nearly impossible to get 80% in that system, so count GPA that way.
- Grad - 3.5 GPA from US university outside top 75.
- Experience - 3 years full-time. Lots of research in grad school though, published papers in different departments, thesis, got federal funding on research proposals etc...
- GMAT - 690 and 6.0 AWA
- low to medium extra curriculars.
- Absolutely solid recommendations from grad Profs and Managers.
- Good essays, submitted the third essay as well. The first para was creative on the dreams theme, but kept the latter paragraphs very simple just connecting to the dreams theme and highlighting progression thus far.

Overall nothing exceptional, but I guess the big thing is there is no big negative either.

I used the exact same creative theme...

Started with a real life work situation and from there enter a dream sequence, traversing back in time and walking through my career progression and choices I made in my professional life that led me to where I am today. And then close the essay with a "Who I am" type note....connecting the dots.

I borrowed the concept/idea from the "Essays for Business School" book by Paul Bodine. I would strongly suggest this book to anyone trying to put together an application. An absolute must. It really elaborates and gives various examples of what the schools adcoms are looking for.

I am yet to receive my admission letter via regular mail. That letter contains the login/password details to the admission database. As soon as I get in I will post it here on the forum...

Hopefully I will receive it today and should be able to post details by tonight.

I will not have access to the student database until I get my "NetID", which I will receive once basic formalities are fulfilled. Albeit they do let us have a sneak preview of the current class.

"The new student database is only accessible to incoming Spring 2009 deposited students. If you are curious about the rest of your incoming class, click here to find out exactly who your classmates are. You may also find your NetID through this site."

I just did a count and it was a total of 49 students...

Just a little tip from a fall student, you don't need to wait for the official letter. Your password is the same as the one for the status update page :wink:

Any activity? Maybe a DB count update for supporting the troops =)
Anybody in need of moral support, maybe we can turn this into a group therapy or sthing.
I can't be the only one checking this board... just a few times a day... If so, then great, my chances should be pretty high.

My stats:
GMAT: 690
GPA: 3.97
PE: 7 years with fast track into management, currently reporting to the CIO of a F500. Well, it used to be a F500 before the housing downturn. My company is one of the largest US homebuilders.
French/Tunisian came to the US in 2001. Was born and grew up in France and my Father is Tunisian.
Did a leadership training program with GE.
I hold 2 Master Degrees French/US in MIS & CIS. IT stuff... now eager to move to the business side, IT is becoming such a commodity and the value really lies in the business.

I check it twice a day myself. I wish NYU can speed up the process. Does the db count change every day or once a week ?

Looking at prior posts, I believe that the DB count is updated daily/ongoing with some delay (1 day) between acceptance notification and DB count.
Anyway, I don't have access to it…sorry.

Yes, the database should be updated regularly. I am hoping one of the accepted students could let us know the latest db count.

Speaking about me, I am anxious and finding it hard to concentrate at work. This wait is killing me.
